The new widecrankcase overhead-camshaft generation made its debut in 1967.
Basic engine specifications did not changeexcept for a smaller diameter stepped crankpin. By 1970 a straight crankpin was introducted. Also in 1970 the sigarette shaped muffler was replaced with a square cut muffler.
Over the years minor other changes were introducted such as reshaped saddles, restyled gas tanks and adjustments in paining colours and badges.
In 1971 the scramblers received tool boxes (removable) and a new round taillight.
As from 1973 the scramblers were updated with parts from the Mark 3.
The engines for the final scramblers were sourced from Mototrans in Spain.
